A Message from Mayor Ward

We all value our freedom, including the freedom to heat with wood. Let's work together to clean up our air!

A Message from Mayor Kassel

Let's work together to clean up our air!  Dry wood burns hotter and saves you
time and money!

The Air We Breathe

We all breathe the same air.  Let's think about the health of all of our neighbors when we heat our homes.

No Other Adequate Source of Heat Affidavit Has Been Updated
On August 28th, the Assembly adopted FNSB ordinance 2016-37 (fnsb.us/assembly/OrdinanceResolutions/2016-37.pdf) making a slight change to "No Other Adequate Source of Heat Affidavit."  Now, only buildings constructed on or before December 31,2016, may apply for a waiver.
Between October and March each year, buildings within the Borough's Air Quality Control Zone are subject to restrictions on wood burning during air quality alerts. In order to be exempted from the restrictions, the building owner (or other person with a property or managerial interest in the building) must submit a “No Other Adequate Source of Heat” Affidavit to the FNSB Air Quality Division.

Download the affidavit here:
NOASH affidavit 8-1-16.pdf

REMINDER:  Affidavits expire after 1 year, so anyone that has previously submitted one will need to reapply.

For more specific questions please contact the FNSB Air Quality office at 459-1005 or email us at aqip@fnsb.us.

PLEASE NOTE: This form MUST be notarized before it will be processed.  There is a notary available in the FNSB Air Quality office for your convenience.
