Student Awards,
Scholarships and Fellowships
Each year ESA and the Entomological Foundation present awards and scholarships
to students. Descriptions and eligibility requirements can be found on our
Student Awards Page. The deadline for
nominations is July 1, 2008. Awards will be presented at the Annual Meeting.
Student Activities at
the Annual Meeting
This year's Annual Meeting will be held in Indianapolis, Indiana from December
13-16, 2009.

$30,000 in award funding is available for Students and Young Professionals
who have participated in the affairs of their Society and who attended the ESA Annual Meeting in Reno, Nevada. For more information,

Student Competition for the
President's Prize
This event, held each year at the Annual Meeting, features a
Poster
Display Competition and a
10-Minute Oral
Presentation Competition. Winners receive $70.00 and free ESA membership for
a year.
Committee on
Student Affairs
This committee stimulates interest in student participation in ESA activities,
advises the Governing Board on matters of interest to student members, and
organizes programs to serve student interests at the annual meeting. It consists
of two student members from each Branch.
Volunteers
and Committee Opportunities
Each year there are opportunities to volunteer at the ESA Annual Meeting and at
the Branch Meetings, and most of ESA's standing committees have student
liaisons. If you would like to volunteer or serve on a committee, contact your
Branch representative on the
Student

The BCE
Intern Program
For those who hold do not meet the full requirements for entry into the Board
Certified Entomologist (BCE) program, but who still wish to begin the process of
becoming certified, BCE Intern status is a good option.

Opportunities
Each month ESA features employment opportunities in the ESA Newsletter and on
our web site.
Linnaean Games
The ESA Linnaean games are a lively question-and-answer, college bowl-style
competition on entomological facts played between university-sponsored student
teams. Each Branch sends its top two teams to compete at our Annual Meeting.
College and University Entomology Programs
Here you will find a list of North American colleges and universities that offer
entomology or entomology-related degrees, plus universities which allow you to
minor in entomology or take entomology courses online.
