Friends of IRC launched!

As part of the Institute for Regional Conservation’s (IRC) goals, a support group called Friends of IRC was created in the fall of 2004 to restore the link between people and nature and to support and advance The Institute for Regional Conservation.

The Friends of IRC is dedicated to promote the welfare and growth of IRC, to enrich its resources, and to make its services and needs known to the community. Support activities include: raising funds for complementary and more extensive IRC research; increasing awareness of IRC and its programs; promoting educational programs about native flora and fauna of South Florida; and continuing maintenance and development of IRC and its activities.

So far, more than 100 members have joined and over $25,000 have been raised for IRC’s unfunded projects!
