Welcome to the Entomological Society of Washington (ESW)

The ESW has met regularly since 1884 and the Proceedings of the Entomological Society of Washington have been published since 1886, making the Society one of the oldest entomological societies in the Americas. The Society extends an invitation for membership to all persons with interest in the science of entomology. The Proceedings are published quarterly beginning in January by the ESW.

The objectives of the Entomological Society of Washington are to promote the study of entomology in all its aspects and to cultivate mutually advantageous relations among those in any way interested in entomology. The Society is organized and operated exclusively for scientific and educational purposes.

The Society meets on the first Thursday of each month October through June at the Smithsonian Institution, National Museum of Natural History, 10th and Constitution Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C. An annual banquet is typically held in June in place of the normal meeting and may be held offsite. Meetings are open to anyone interested; membership is not required. Announcements are posted to the website. To receive electronic notification of upcoming meetings please contact Cecilia Escobar, Program Chair at: cescoba1992(AT)gmail.com *
