The NIST Chemical Kinetics Database provides a tool for those producing and using gas-phase kinetic data. In a few minutes, users of the database may examine all of the data on many different reactions, compare the rates measured to their own data, generate files for inclusion in a modeling program, or produce citations which can be used in a word processor. Data coverage in the current edition is through the first quarter of 1998. Periodic updates will be available.

Data:

  • 37,400 rate constants
  • 15,000 reactions - 11,400 distinct reactant sets
  • 9,000 compounds
  • 11,200 literature references

Searching Modes:

  • Search by reactants, including various logical screens
  • Search by author; all authors in a given paper included
  • Search for reactions in a particular paper
  • Search for reactions producing a given product

Reactant Search Modes:

  • Specific reactant pairs
  • Reaction of compounds containing a single element
  • Boolean restrictions on reactants
  • Elemental restrictions on reactants

User Input:

  • Users may enter their own data and comments, which can be displayed and graphed with literature data

Data Output:

  • Individual abstracts or citations may be saved in a format suitable for use in word processors or may be printed directly
  • User selected sets of rate data may be fit to Arrhenius equations using least squares fitting, and the resulting fits may be saved to a file suitable for use in a modeling program
  • Graphics of this data may be edited on the screen and fit only to user selected data
  • Graphical output via Windows drivers

Other Features:

Additional information available for compound identification.
