Volunteer Opportunities

Native Seeds/SEARCH conserves, distributes and documents the adapted and diverse varieties of agricultural seeds, their wild relatives and the role these seeds play in cultures of the American Southwest and northwest Mexico.

WE NEED YOU! A corps of committed volunteers is at the heart of NS/S. We have a variety of interesting projects from which to choose:

Distribution Department (located at 526 N. Fourth Avenue)
Volunteers are needed to assist customers, stock shelves, package seeds, beans, cornmeal, chiles and other native foods.

Conservation Department (located at 2130 N. Alvernon Way)
Volunteers are needed to clean seeds, help with germination tests, organize research materials including photos, slides and data entry.

Conservation Farm (located near Patagonia, AZ)
Volunteers are needed to help weed, repair equipment, plant and harvest (duties vary depending on time of year).

Administrative Department (located at 220 E Sixth Street)
Volunteers are needed to staff events, as well as to help with mailings, data entry, filing and other office tasks.
