  • Event: Herb Lectures

    When: March 2-6, 2009; 9-11AM each day
    Where: University of Arizona’s BI05 Building – Room 103
    Registration fee: $75

    Pat will give illustrated lectures, discussions and demonstrations on a wide variety of herbal topics. Some of the topics Pat may cover:

    • Gardening with herbs and designing an herb garden
    • Growing and using herbs Container herb gardening for gourmet cooking
    • Native American, Southwest, and winter herbs
    • Plants that color

    About Ms. Kenny: Pat Kenny is a member of The Herb Society of America, committee member of the National Herb Garden and part-time employee at the Dr. James Duke medicinal herb garden in Maryland. Pat has taught courses on herbs at the USDA Graduate School for 10 years. Her professional career was as a medical/botanical illustrator at National Institute of Health. She is a master gardener, popular lecturer, and very active member of the Potomac Unit of the Herb Society. Pat will donate her time in this series so that all proceeds will benefit the conservation efforts of Native Seeds/SEARCH.

    Parking: Please use the Highland Parking Garage at the university, located at the corner of Highland Street and Helen St. The parking garage is 1 block from the B105 building. Parking is $5.00 per day. To save money you may wish to carpool. Also, the Cat Tran routes of purple, teal and mauve stop right in front of the BI05 building.
