GEM (Global Excellence Model) Council
GEM – or the Global Excellence Model Council – is made up of the Chief Executives of national Excellence Models and Award Programs from around the world. In addition to the Baldrige Program, GEM members consist of Australia, Europe, Ibero-America ( Brazil, Mexico, Spain), India, Japan, and Singapore.
For Baldrige, GEM membership is a way of benchmarking our excellence model and Award process with other programs. We use this global fraternity to work on common concerns as well as to help guide our future development. For example, GEM members share Examiner training strategies and are currently working on developing a harmonized set of performance measures.
GEM has developed a website to communicate with one another and to communicate information to the public about member nation’s programs. To find out more about the excellence models or Awards in any of the member nations or to learn more about GEM itself, visit the GEM website.
