Method for Producing Metallic Nanoparticles
Abstract
A method for producing metallic nanoparticles with a controlled size distribution well below 100 nanometer diameter.
Application(s)
- Conducting paints and inks
- Pyrotechnics and explosives
- Catalysts
- Magnetic storage
Advantages
This process offers significant advantages over other techniques including:
- Produces very high purity materials
- Relatively tight size distribution (see graph below)
- Continuous, non-batch process Inexpensive raw materials with little to no scrap/effluent
- Easily scaleable
- Low capital costs
