Bankrupt Circuit City Stores Inc., unable to work out a sale of the company, said Friday it will go out of business - closing its 567 U.S. stores and cutting 30,000 jobs.

A former employee of Knoxville-based ImagePoint has filed suit in federal court against the company seeking 60 days of back pay and benefits. The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Act requires that companies provide 60 days advance notice before terminating workers. No such notice was given, the lawsuit claims.
