  1. Questions about our new design.
  2. Why does bangordailynews.com look different?
We have designed it to make finding what you want faster and easier, with much less scrolling. You'll see drop-downs on our navigation bar that will place you where you want to go with fewer pages to click through.

Tabs on the main news box will serve in one place top stories, most-read stories, reader comment and polls as well as the new BDN Store, where our prize-winning photographers have their best work on display.

We hope you find the new bangordailynews.com easier to use and more convenient!

What is new with this change in the web site?
    Lots of things.

For one, besides the new BDN Store, here are some other features to look for: an afternoon video newscast from our new studio will give you a synopsis of the news in just a couple of minutes; an extensive calendar of events is now on our home page; a new classifieds set of tabs will make it easier to find a job, a car or a home; at the bottom of the home page is a section called "Follow the Data" -- click on Crime & Justice, Community, Government or Education and find the beginning of a new data series that will give you statistical information about Maine.

There's a place in each section to add commentary, so if there's something you would like to see in these categories, consider yourself encouraged to post a note about it.

    Are there more changes coming?
    Yes.

Users of the new site will also notice a large button called Maineville, an entirely new site for the Bangor Daily News that will start Sept. 17 with two dozen town pages and grow as interest around the state grows.

These pages will include the latest news from the towns they cover, as well as shopping through bangordailynews.com, but they are mostly about what's on your mind and what interests you and your neighbors. Maineville will devote most of its space to reader posts -- news, events, press releases, photos, video -- but, most important, comments about town issues that matter to residents.

How do I find my favorite section/page/information?
The drop down menus on the top navigation bar will allow you to find the news you're looking for by category (i.e. Sports, Lifestyle, State House, Court News, etc) or regions of the state (i.e. Aroostook, Greater Bangor, Down East, etc.). If you do need a little help finding stories or your favorite areas of our web site, please use our search tool. It works great!

If you're still having trouble locating a particular section or page, please contact us.
