Website Accessibility

Standards Compliant Design

The UT Knoxville website was redesigned in 2007 with an eye toward optimized accessibility. All pages that are maintained by the Office of Creative Services are web standards compliant and have passed the WebXACT (formerly Bobby) Priority One accessibility test:

  • Main navigation is text-based and AccessKey-controlled.
  • All images have been tagged and titled.
  • Content has been organized hierarchically.
  • Font sizes are relative and, so, can be adjusted by users.

As a result, the website compliments, optimally, the use of assistive technologies such as screen readers.
