Program contentThe Survey Methods seminar will focus on the statistical and behavioral science issues relevant to improving survey methods and the quality of statistical output. It will present important statistical concepts and techniques in sample design, execution, and estimation, as well as models of behavior describing errors in responding to survey questions. Participants are encouraged to bring examples of surveys, including methodology, questionnaires, and publications of results from their own countries to use in discussions and workshops. Time will be reserved for participants to have appointments with staff of BLS and other organizations to discuss special concerns regarding their surveys. A summary of the program is as follows:
