Lee County, Fla., had the biggest over-the-year percentage decrease
in employment (-8.8 percent) in June 2008; nationally, jobs declined
by 0.3 percent. Rock Island, Ill., had the largest gain in average
weekly wages (10.5 percent) in the second quarter of 2008, compared
with a national increase of 2.6 percent.
