The fieldtrip, which was organized by Coast Guard Petty Officer 1st Class Michael Johnson from Aids to Navigation Team New York, involved a tour of the lighthouse and a talk with several members of the family of Frank Schubert, the last known lighthouse keeper in the country who manned the Coney Island Lighthouse from 1960 to 2003.
