What do I do with a CFL light bulb (Compact Fluorescent Lamp) when it burns out?

Like paint, batteries, thermostats and other hazardous household items, CFLs should be disposed of properly.  Do not throw CFLs away in your household garbage if there is a better disposal option. In our area The Home Depot located at 9615 Diamond Center Road has a recycling bin near their Returns Department. This is a free service. They do not accept long tubes. They can be reached at 440-357-0428. For other locations please go to http://www.recycleabulb.com/. The only other option is to place the CFL in a plastic bag and seal it before putting it in the trash.

Thanks to all the Painesville Electric customers who participated in the light bulb exchange!

When President Bush signed the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 into law on July 30, a world of opportunities became available to first-time home buyers, home owners struggling to pay their mortgages and renters alike.  Combined with near-record low interest rates, a large selection of homes on the market to choose from, and competitive prices, the tax credit is one more reason that now is an ideal time to buy a home.  Please click the icon for more information on the First-Time Home Buyer Tax Credit.

 Traffic Restrictions

  • Traffic Restriction - Beginning the week of September 18 and extending for approximately 90 days construction activites will take place on Grand River Avenue.
