Our adopted unit, Battery B, 3rd Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division is home from Iraq! The Mayor delivered the surplus supplies we collected for our unit. The Lewis Road Bridge over Rocky River between Cedar Point and Stafford will be closed to through traffic (except for local access only from either side of the bridge) on July 7th at approximately 7:00 am. The project is scheduled to be completed by August 1st, 2009. Detour signs will be posted. Please contact the County Engineer's Office with any questions at 216-348-3838 between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm.
The east side of Stearns does not have paint striping, therefore the barrels remain on Stearns. The last of the concrete on Lorain must cure for 22 days before permanent striping.
The intersections of Stearns and Cook, as well as Stearns and Bagley in Olmsted Township, will be closed beginning Monday, September 15, 2008. They are installing new box culverts. Alternate routes will be posted. Please remember non-profit organizations are exempt from the Ordinance. *********************************************************************************************************** Mayor Thomas O'Grady, Finance Director Carrie Copfer, and Assistant Finance Director Leslie Bruxvoort receive an award for EXCELLENT FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY, called the "Making Your Tax Dollars Count" award. Presenting the award was a representative, Michelle Stys (far left), from the office of Auditor of State, Mary Taylor. Fewer than five percent of all Ohio governmental agencies are eligible for this award, which is for fiscal year 2005. ********************************************************************************************************** Residents who plan to rent portable on-demand storage containers, commonly called PODS, must get a 30-day, no charge permit from the City's Building Department. ************************************************************************************************************************************************************************ DOOR STICKERS AVAILABLE “NO PEDDLERS, SOLICITORS, OR CANVASSERS ALLOWED” The Safety Department has available to all residents a sticker that can be placed at your home’s entrance, prohibiting Peddlers, Solicitors and Canvassers from knocking on your door. Residents can obtain this sticker by stopping by City Hall or by contacting Louise Kilbane at 440-716-4137. Non-profit organizations and charitable groups are usually exempted by law, and therefore, they are not required to obtain a permit from the City of North Olmsted. We cannot regulate this type of solicitor. If you have a concern or question regarding a solicitor in your area, we suggest that you do not open your door and that you contact the Police Department at 440-777-3535 or the Department of Public Safety at 440-716-4137.
