PRESS RELEASE

REQUEST FOR PROPOSED LISTING AGREEMENTS TO MARKET AND SELL PARCEL 33-10736 HIGHLAND POINTE PARKWAY, MACEDONIA.

The City of Macedonia, as owner in trust of Parcel 33-10736 Highland Pointe Parkway, solicits proposals from Ohio commercial real estate brokers to market and sell this property which consists of approximately 17.4 acres of land located in the Limited Industrial (L-I) zoning district in the City of Macedonia, Summit County. Proposals should include all terms for an exclusive listing agreement for a term of no longer than six months and a marketing plan. Qualifications of the broker and the proposed agent should be included with the proposal. THE DEADLINE TO SUBMIT PROPOSALS IS NOON FEBRUARY 18, 2009. ALL PROPOSALS MUST BE SENT BY US MAIL OR EMAIL TO:

Macedonia Leaf Pick-up

 

The Service Department would like to thank all Macedonia Residents who participated in the 2008 leaf collection program. All residents did a great job following the guidelines. The department was able to get all the leaves picked up by December 27, 2008. Three complete rounds were made throughout the city.

DRAINAGE AND SEWER CONTROL COMMITTEE

The Drainage and Sewer Control Committee is made up of volunteer residents whose mission is to identify and investigate the quantity of storm water which may lead to drainage, waterway, and sewer problems that affect the City of Macedonia in conjunction with EPA mandated quality issues. The committee will work to identify public and private responsibilities while making recommendations for improvements and informing the public. Click for more info

HOUSING ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS
Summit County receives funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development under the CDBG and HOME programs to provide a number of housing-oriented programs for low-to-moderate income households living within Summit County. Click here.

ONGOING PROBLEMS WITHIN NEIGHBORHOOD

Macedonia residents having ongoing problems such as neighbor disputes, barking dog complaints, or speeders in their area, can consult with the officers assigned to their zone about these situations. These officers will have direct contact with residents and can provide assistance with recurring complaints.

NOPEC

NOPEC, the Northeast Ohio Public Energy Council, is a group of 118 communities, including the City of Macedonia, that have been banded together to make bulk purchases of electricity and natural gas. (Click here for info)

Channel 9 - Mayors Report is televised on Monday and Thursdays at 6:00 PM and on Sundays at 9:30 PM.

Channel 25 - Council Meetings are televised
Sunday thru Saturday – 7AM, 2PM and 7PM

Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday only – 10AM and 10PM

OVERNIGHT PARKING

Just a reminder: There is no OVERNIGHT PARKING between the hours of 2:00 AM - 6:00 AM anywhere in the City of Macedonia. Please notify the Police Dept. @ 330-468-1234 if you need to have a car parked in the street, to avoid being ticketed. Thank you for your cooperation.

GENERAL INFO

The City of Macedonia has an Ordinance (505.01) which states "No person being the owner of or having charge of any dog, whether wearing a registration tag or not, shall permit it to run at large upon any public place or upon the premises of another. The owner or keeper of every dog shall at all times keep such dog either confined upon the premises of the owner or keeper, or under reasonable control of some person. The first offense is a minor misdemeanor with a maximum fine of $150.00. The 2nd offense is a misdemeanor of the fourth degree with a maximum fine of $250.00 which could carry possible charges or arrest."
