This year’s schedule will offer enhanced educational opportunities to provide you the best value for your time, featuring condensed sessions and timely industry speakers, plus the beautiful marine setting of Tampa Bay as our backdrop! This is sure to be an event you will not want to miss!

PROGRAM FEATURES

After celebrating our 125th anniversary year in 2008, the American Seed Trade Association is excited to move ahead with renewed energy and purpose with our first convention in 2009, the 48th Vegetable & Flower Seed Conference. As we head into the future with new strategic goals and a view to the new heights we can achieve, we are proud to bring to ASTA members a convention experience that offers the crucial educational and networking value that we all need in these trying economic times. Many past convention attendees report “getting a year’s worth of business done in three days” at the Vegetable & Flower Seed Conference, and that, along with our cutting-edge educational programming, is in store for you at the beautiful Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina come February.

The convention agenda will feature a number of opportunities to learn and network while enjoying the city and also giving back. Convention sessions will include timely presentations by agricultural economic experts and leaders in the produce industry, offering guidance for seed companies, both domestically and abroad, for how to navigate the murky waters of today’s economy. Other sessions include focused content on biotechnology, organic, intellectual property rights, stewardship and phytosanitary concerns, among many more. Networking opportunities include ever-popular Trading Room , featuring all exhibitors, reserved tables, and open seating facing the beautiful waterfront of Hillsborough Bay. Our Welcome Reception, sponsored by Syngenta Seed Care, will feature a truly historic experience as Tampa’s famous Gasparilla Pirate Festival, being held on the shores of our waterfront hotel on February 7 and 8, makes its way through the harbour and into our convention as pirates commandeer our event!

We are proud to bring you these four days of value and education at the 48th Vegetable & Flower Seed Conference, the fastest growing ASTA convention of them all!
