Schuebel comes through for Warren Hills High School wrestling

    by Warren Reporter
    Thursday January 15, 2009, 8:19 PM

For the second straight match, a Warren Hills High win or loss was up to the final wrestler on Jan. 5. As Matt Schuebel headed into the circle for the 130 pound "main event," the Blue Streaks were tied 33-33. Schuebel was dominant in winning an 11-3 major decision, to make Warren Hills 5-3 on the season, with a 37-33 victory over West Morris.

"I've told the team we can expect to have a lot of close matches this season, and that anybody could find themselves in a position where they have to win in order for the team to win. Every match is important in a battle that goes to the wire, but the final match always gets all the attention and pressure," said Blue Streaks' Coach Jarrett Hosbach.

"The wrestlers know they have to go out and do what they have been doing in practice. You win matches by improving your skills and stamina in practice. You can't just suddenly pull something new out of a hat. You get what you put into it.

Walk the Chartres Labyrinth at Skylands Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Hackettstown

    by Warren Reporter
    Thursday January 15, 2009, 12:15 PM

HACKETTSTOWN - A Chartres Labyrinth will be available for walking at Skylands Unitarian Universalist Fellowship during the week of Jan. 18.

A labyrinth has one path into the center and back out. It is not a maze with dead ends or trick turns. Dating back as far as 2,500 BC, the labyrinth pattern is used today as a way to reconnect the spiritual self to the mind and body.

At it most basic level the labyrinth is a metaphor for the journey to the center of a person's deepest self and back out into the world with a broadened understanding of who they are.
