When entering the job market you need experience to get the job, but you need a job to get experience. Dealing with this cycle can be difficult, and volunteer experience can be as valuable as job experience on a resume. Volunteering can also provide a rewarding experience to individuals interested in sharing their skills with others.

Volunteer in Public Service (VIPS)

Volunteers in Public Service (VIPS) places individuals in career-related positions within provincial government departments and agencies. It is a unique volunteer program because it focuses on the career-related value of volunteering.

Youth Serves Manitoba

Youth Serves Manitoba (YSM) encourages post-secondary students to engage in meaningful, part-time community service with incorporated non-profit or registered charitable organizations. Upon successful completion of 100 hours of service, approved students will receive a $500 bursary towards tuition or student loans.

Volunteers essential to EAL

Volunteering in an Adult EAL program is iomportant part of program success. If you are a volunteer in an Adult EAL program or are interested in volunteering we welcome you. The Adult Language Training Branch can provide help with resource materials and regularly scheduled workshops.
