Calendar of events and Training Schedule for Adult Educators in Manitoba

This site contains the training schedule offered by Adult Learning and Literacy (ALL) of the Department of Advanced Education and Training. The workshops are intended as in-service workshops for adult literacy and adult learning centre tutors and teachers, volunteers, members of Literacy Working Groups, program managers, ESL instructors, and where appropriate, teachers in schools. Participants in the workshops should be involved either as volunteers or paid staff in some aspect of adult educational provision. Course credit is only available to Manitoba Adult Educators.

Apprenticeship Trades Qualification Board

Manitoba's community college training instructors who deliver apprentices' technical training on behalf of the Apprenticeship Branch, can access monthly updates on the activities of the Apprenticeship and Trades Qualifications Board and trade advisory committees.

Trade Information

Employment counsellors can get current trade career information for secondary and post-secondary students as well as for adults who want to change careers or become certified in a trade. Information includes details on the apprenticeship training process, trade job descriptions and certification requirements. College trade instructors can access the most current information regarding apprenticeship trades. Information includes trade regulations, trade descriptions and the names of Apprenticeship Coordinators assigned to these trades.

Teaching Adult English as an Additional Language (EAL)

Teaching Adult English as an Additional Language is a challenging endeavor that requires substantial professional expertise to meet Manitoba's high standards and goals to help newcomers improve their communication skills. Manitoba Labour and Immigration can provide supports with everything from teaching resources to event notices.
