Illinois EPA Director presents “big check” to Broadview Village President/ Funds to be used for environmental clean up at a former drycleaners for redevelopment
BROADVIEW -- On behalf of Governor Rod R. Blagojevich, Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Director Doug Scott announced today the Village of Broadview will be the recipient of $300,000 in Brownfields Stipulated Grant Funding to complete environmental cleanup at the former Broadview Quick Wash cleaners site located at 1301 Roosevelt Road.

Illinois’ Vehicle Emissions Testing Program Undergoes Major Change on February 1
1995 and older vehicles currently in compliance with emissions law will no longer need to be tested
SPRINGFIELD — The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (Illinois EPA) announced changes to the Vehicle Emissions Inspection Law, that take effect February 1, 2007, and will impact thousands of motorists in the northeastern Illinois and Metro-East St. Louis regions whose vehicles are currently required to undergo regular emissions inspections.

GRANITE CITY -- On behalf of Governor Rod Blagojevich, Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Director Doug Scott announced that the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency has approved $42,505 in Brownfields Redevelopment Grant Funding, to perform an environmental site investigation at a former salvage yard located at 2679 Missouri Avenue in Granite City, in preparation for redevelopment.

Illinois EPA initiates cleanup of environmental eyesore in Fayette County
Cleanup funded through new “I-RID” Program to remove illegal dumps
WRIGHTS CORNER —- Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) Director Doug Scott announced that the Agency will clean up of illegally dumped waste 12 miles north of St. Elmo on County Rd. 2700 in Wrights Corner located in Fayette County. Weather permitting, work will begin Tuesday, January 16 and is anticipated to finish Friday, January 19. Among the nearly 500 cubic yards of waste to be removed are tires, household waste, computers, couches, chairs, asphalt shingles, desks, and office cabinets. The cleanup is being conducted as part of the recently enacted I-RID (Illinois Removes Illegal Dumps) Program

CHRISMAN ---- Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) Director Doug Scott announced that the Agency will clean up illegally dumped waste at 23125 E 1625th Rd. located in Chrisman, IL. in Edgar County. Weather permitting, work will begin Tuesday, January 16 and is anticipated to finish Tuesday, January 30. Among the nearly 700 cubic yards of waste to be removed are various metals, plastic, glass, tires, automobiles, household waste, white goods and construction and demolition debris. The cleanup is being conducted as part of the recently enacted I-RID (Illinois Removes Illegal Dumps) Program.
