Australia is free from some of the world’s major agricultural and aquatic pests and diseases, and is a world leader in animal welfare.  This ‘clean and green’ status provides us with a major trading advantage and access to overseas markets - essential to the economy because Australia exports around 75 per cent of its agricultural products.

The Product Integrity, Animal and Plant Health Division protects our animal and plant health by placing a high priority on education and awareness to prevent pest and disease incursions, and ensures robust and tested response plans are in place should an outbreak occur.
