AgVenture 2008
 
 
      AgVenture 2008 June 2-5th

AgVenture is a four day summer camp for high school students (sophomores through seniors) who have demonstrated a strong interest in agriculture and may be contemplating a career in agriculture. Participants are exposed to numerous facets of production agriculture and receive an introduction into agricultural research.

AgVenture is limited to 24 participants who are selected on a competitive basis. Application deadline is April 15th. Applicants will be notified of the committee's decision by May 1.

Students and sponsoring staff will be housed at the Noble Foundation Conference Center. All meals and transportation will be provided. There is no fee, but selected participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from AgVenture 2008.

Get hands-on experience while learning about:
• grazing management
• commercial fish farming
• deer management
• utilization of new livestock technologies
• intensive vegetable production
• fencing materials and methods
• pecan propagation
• livestock marketing & farm management
• ag career paths & opportunities
• soil conservation

Participants must live or go to school in the following counties:

Oklahoma
Atoka, Bryan, Caddo, Canadian, Carter, Choctaw, Cleveland, Coal, Comanche, Cotton, Garvin, Grady, Hughes, Jefferson, Johnston, Lincoln, Love, Marshall, McClain, Murray, Okfuskee, Oklahoma, Pittsburg, Pontotoc, Pottawatomie, Pushmataha, Seminole, Stephens, Tillman

Texas
Archer, Clay, Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Delta, Denton, Fannin, Grayson, Hunt, Jack, Lamar, Montague, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant, Wichita, Wise
