Research Interests
Dr. Reynolds' research interests are in
mechanisms of vegetation processes, particularly competition and
coexistence, with the goals of understanding vegetation patterns
and their responses to abiotic and biotic environmental
changes. Within this broad area, I am especially interested in
the importance of plant-soil and plant-microbe relationships,
and the role of environmental heterogeneity. I work primarily
in herbaceous systems (prairie, old-field, forest floor). In
current work at KBS, I am collaborating with Kay Gross and Gary
Mittelbach to examine the effects of soil nutrient
heterogeneity, recruitment limitation, disturbance, and
clonality on the composition and diversity of prairie grassland. |
