Collections - what is in the library?
The library supports the research interests of Landcare Research, and those of the library's CRI clients on the Lincoln campus. All aspects of land environment, as well as horticultural, agricultural and food research, are represented. The particular strengths of the collection include botany, animal ecology, soil science, environmental forestry and crop science.
The material held includes books, journals, theses, maps, photographs, slides, microfiche and CD-ROMS. The library holds over 25,000 books and over 9,000 journal titles. More than 1200 journal titles are currently received.
How to find what you want
Search the library catalogue for all material added to the Lincoln library since 1985. There are also card catalogues at Lincoln for details of books and journals from DSIR libraries pre-1985.
Who can use the Library
The Landcare Research Library provides lending, reference, interloan and information services to:
- Landcare Research Staff;
- Other CRI staff on the Canterbury Agricultural Science Campus (by contract);
- Other libraries through interloan;
- Individuals with special interests in material held (by arrangement).

Document Supply
Many of the publications from the Landcare Research Library at Lincoln can be obtained by interloan through your local library.
Photocopying - 2 machines available in the library, for use within the terms of the Copyright Act 1994.
