The Pullen Herbarium has a collection of approximately 2,200 specimens of myxomycetes (slime molds) from Mississippi that were collected by a former faculty member, Dr. Donald Russell. According to his dissertation (1970), many of these specimens represent the first species record for the state. Katie Winsett, an undergraduate student, is curating this collection. We hope to make the collection available to the scientific community as soon as possible. Data from this collection are already in a database format and should be searchable by 2004.
