Pesticide Programs The North Dakota Department of Agriculture is committed to ensuring human safety and protecting the environment through the proper use of pesticides. In addition, the Department acknowledges the critical role that pesticides play in producing high quality food and controlling economically important pests. Therefore, the Department uses its statutory authority to regulate the registration, distribution, sale, storage, and proper use of pesticide products. Pesticide Programs are split into two program areas. The Pesticide Registration program area issues pesticide registrations, submits emergency exemption requests, and deals with pesticide harmonization issues. The Pesticide Enforcement and Compliance Assistance program regulates the sale and use of pesticides through periodic inspections and enforcement activities. Pesticide Laws and Regulations
