Senior Program Associate, Rural Communities ProgramIATP seeks a full-time senior program associate to work on a variety of rural economic development issues, particularly as they relate to the development and promotion of sustainable bioeconomy policies and markets. The bioeconomy includes the emerging bioenergy, biofuel and biomaterials sector, and this position will have a specific focus on policy and market mechanisms that promote sustainable agricultural and forest-based biomass "feedstock" production. INTERNSHIPSLast updated December 19, 2008 Internship, Center for Earth, Energy and Democracy at IATPThe intern will work for the Center for Earth, Energy and Democracy (CEED) at IATP. CEED's mission is to conduct policy research, analysis and advocacy on the intersection of energy, environment and community development issues, focusing on the distributional effects of policies on Indigenous peoples, communities of color and the poor. This position will report to the Director of the Rural Communities Program, and will require strong analytical, research, writing and interpersonal communication skills. RESPONSIBILITIES
The project will address issues of environmental justice in the region. In partnership with local community-based organizations, the student will contribute to the development of community- based green development planning.
