Description of tour experience:
On exhibit are restored aircraft, vehicles and artifacts
that illustrate the story of Canadian and Commonwealth air personnel
who trained under the Commonwealth Air Training Plan during World War II.
The Museum pays tribute to the over 18,000 Royal Canadian Air Force personnel
who lost their lives overseas during the war.

Description of tour experience:
Each year, the Museum chooses a theme and explores it through 
an exhibition of related clothing, textiles, and accessories carefully selected from
its collection of 35,000 artifacts spanning over four centuries.
Each scene is brought to life through “tableaux vivants” or living pictures,
using authentic period clothing.
A pioneer home (circa 1886) is open for interpretive tours during the summer months.

Description of tour experience:
Canada’s largest collection of operating vintage farm machinery from 1900 and beyond.
The collection includes over 500 implements as well as a
late 19th century village composed of 22 buildings including an 1883 school house,
post office, general store, log houses, railway station and elegant clapboard manor.
The Manitoba Amateur Radio Museum is also located on the grounds.
There are camping & picnic facilities and a souvenir shop.

Description of tour experience:
Experience the past as you explore three historic locations. 
On the main floor of the Waterfront Centre, the story of New Iceland
unfolds through dynamic multi-media exhibits depicting
the arrival of the first group of Icelanders to the shores of Lake Winnipeg in 1875. 
The Lake Winnipeg Visitor Centre explores the history of the fishing industry 
and the natural history of Lake Winnipeg. 
In the Gimli Public School 1915 visitors can view the heritage classroom. 
While there, be sure to visit the attic home of 
Gimli’s own “hidden people” form Iceland, Snorri and Snaebjorn.
