Envirotech Trade Mission FAQ’s

Who will we be meeting with on this trip? Can you give me some exact names?

This mission will be customized to meet individual participant business needs in each country. Until the list of participating companies is finalized, it is too early to determine which local European representatives will be the most appropriate to invite to meet with the delegation.

The types of contacts that you will meet will include key individuals from local companies and government agencies, including local distributors, company owners and managers, representatives of U.S. companies already on the ground in the country, key buyers, local government officials, and others, as appropriate.

The U.S. Commercial Service is part of the U.S. Embassy mission in the countries on this trade mission, and we have very strong staff on location at each site. top-quality executives and officials in the countries we are visiting.

We do suggest that on your application you indicate the exact types of people you would like to meet with, both in your individual appointments and at group events. If you know the exact name of someone, please include it. Even titles and positions are very helpful to us, for example, Minister of Health, or Chief of Police. The more input we get from participants, the more effective we will be at meeting your needs!

What if I want to offer my services (consulting, translating, etc)?

At this point we already have plans in place for covering the needs of this event, but we appreciate your offer. Please e-mail us your contact information and description of the services you provide so we can contact you should there be any changes in the level of support needed for this event. Specifically, we need your name; the company name; all contact details including address, phone number, and e-mail; a list of the types of consulting services you specialize in and in which countries; your company's website; references from individuals who have used your services in that specific country in the past. If we do find that we need to contract out for additional help, we will know how to reach you, and we can keep your information on file for future reference.

What is included in the $3,975 trade mission fee?

The fee includes appointments tailored to your individual company needs as well as receptions and other group activities. It also includes most transportation to and from events you will be attending as a mission participant. Most things are covered but you will need to cover your hotel and airfare, plus perhaps some food on days there are not luncheons or receptions.

How do we book hotels? Flights? Etc.

Once you are accepted to this mission, you will receive logistics details that will explain to you what you will need to do before you leave. We will preset official trade mission hotels and will block rooms off for the group. You will submit a form to hold your room until you arrive.

What if I have a specific person/organization I would like to meet?

The more information you can provide to us about who you would like to meet the better. If you know the name of someone, please list that person’s contact details on the application sheet. If you don’t know a specific name, but rather have an idea of the person’s title also write that on the application. So, for example, maybe you would like to meet the director of the major hospital in town, or the purchasing officer there, or a regulatory affairs person at the Ministry of Health, or the Chief of Police, this sort of thing.

Please let us know specific people if you can and also let us know if you would like an individual meeting with them or would like to meet them at a reception or luncheon. For example, we may not be able to get you and individual meeting with the Minister of Health, but we might be able to you and three other U.S. companies to meet with him as a group, and certainly we can try to get him to a reception at the Ambassador’s house.

Who is participating in the mission?

The main participants in this mission will be U.S. companies wishing to advance their business interests in the countries we are visiting. We will not know who these exact companies will be until after the mission deadline and this list will not be publicly available to those other than the participants until it is appropriate.

In each country, local businessmen and appropriate government officials as well as other key contacts will be invited to participate in various activities and events.

In addition to U.S. company participants, the Director General of the U.S. Commercial Service as well as U.S. Commercial Service and other U.S. government staff will be involved.

Can I choose just one of the 3 country stops?
