Local American Red Cross Joins With Community Food Banks to Increase Fire Safety Awareness
Nearly 35 Community Food Banks Receive Fire Prevention Materials
In light of October’s National Fire Prevention Week, the local Red Cross is joining with the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank and Mercer County Community Food Warehouse to distribute fire safety information to all local pantry visitors.

During October, nearly 35 local pantries have participated in distributions. In total, the local Red Cross, along with the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank and Mercer County Community Food Warehouse, has given more than 1500 fire prevention materials, such as door hangers and tip sheets, to pantry visitors in Lawrence, Beaver, Mercer and Butler Counties.
