Are people in the EU happier living in the country or in towns? This is one of the questions that the first European Quality of Life Survey (EQLS) seeks to answer.
The "OPEN DAYS - European Week of Regions and Cities 2006" will take
place on 9-12 October in Brussels and in 70 other cities across Europe.
Participants from various backgrounds - representatives from the public,
private and banking sector and politicians from European, national and regional
level - are expected to attend 180 seminars and workshops. Under the title of
"Investing in ' Regions and Cities: Public and Private Partners for Growth
and Jobs", seminars will address the subject of EU cohesion and regional
policy funding opportunities for partnerships between local/regional
administrations and businesses.
