    Coast Guard rescues four surfers in Newport

    The U.S. Coast Guard rescued four surfers who were trapped on rocks at Newport this evening. Petty Officer David R. Marin said the Coast Guard responded to a 9-1-1 call about 5 p.m. saying the four were stuck on the south side of Yaquina Head.  Full story »

    Foreign exchange student sues host family, AFS over snowboarding accident

    U.S. finds hermaphroditic bass widespread in nation's rivers, including Columbia
