In 2004 the ISM Lockport Gallery announced S.T.A.R.S., a new volunteer initiative. S.T.A.R.S. (Sharing Time And Realizing Skills) is a program which focuses on building an exceptional family of community volunteers to assist the museum in its operations and, in turn, provide educational opportunities for participants. Our S.T.A.R.S. serve the museum in a variety of ways: as ambassadors, archivists, event greeters, installation assistants, chefs, docents, receptionists and workshop assistants.
