What is the Purdue AirLink?

Purdue Air Link (PAL) is Purdue's wireless computer network. Members of the Purdue community can use PAL to connect their wireless-ready laptops and personal digital assistants (PDA's) to the Purdue network (and through it, to the internet), in any of a large number of public areas throughout the West Lafayette campus.

What instructions should I use?

All Windows 95, 98, and ME users should use PAL 1.0 setup instructions. Please note, however, that end-user support for the previously mentioned operating systems has been discontinued. Please visit https://www.itap.purdue.edu/newsroom/news.cfm?NewsID=530 for more details.

Also, Mac OS X, Linux, Solaris 5.6/5.8, Handheld PC 2000, Palm OS 3.5-4.1, and PocketPC 3.0, 2002, 2003 should use PAL 1.0 setup instructions.

Users who have Windows XP with service pack 2, MacOS 10.3 and 10.4, Windows Mobile 2003 and up, and Linux (with wpa_supplicant) operating systems should use PAL 2.0. Please visit http://www.itap.purdue.edu/airlink/info/whatis.cfm to see more information on PAL 2.0.
