Defense Security Service

 

A Facility Security Clearance from the Defense Security Service (DSS) is a determination that cleared defense contractors are eligible for access to classified information at the same or lower classification category as the clearance being granted.

 

The very first step to clearing a company is for them to be sponsored for a facility clearance by either a government contracting activity (GCA) or another cleared company. Contractors requiring classified access should contact the DSS security office in their operating location. See the list below for each DSS office's area of responsibility.
