Volunteer Opportunities

FNPS is a non-profit, volunteer organization. There are many many opportunities for willing volunteers! Contact your local chapter to find out what is available in your area If you have a pressing need for volunteers, or a wish list for your chapter, let us know and we will announce it here. Information, articles, and photoscans on disk or, preferably, by e-mail can be sent to FNPS@fnps.org.

Chapter Representatives Needed

Does your chapter send a representative to FNPS board meetings? If not, they need a Chapter Representative. What do Chapter Representatives do? Well, they travel to board meetings at beautiful places around Florida about 4 times a year, take notes, and repors back to the local chapter. That's all. Being a Chapter Representative means you have a vote on the board of the state FNPS. It is the best way for chapters to be represented at the state level. If your chapter doesn't participate by sending a chapter representative, then you're losing a great opportunity to be part of a statewide organization.

Besides, it's a lot of fun to go to board meetings. You meet people who feel the same way you do about native plants, who are from all over Florida. You get ideas about how to do things better in your chapter, and find out about opportunities that you might otherwise miss out on. Board meetings are held all over the state, but mostly in central Florida. Each trip has a nice place to stay over night and many have field trips.

Almost any FNPS board member can tell you more about what it's like. If you are interested in being a Chapter Representative for your local chapter, contact your local FNPS chapter president. Information can be obtained by contacting Administrative Services phone # 321-271-6702.
