UGA Odum School of Ecology to hold annual student symposium
The University of Georgia Odum School of Ecology will hold its fifteenth annual symposium showcasing student research Jan. 23-24. The free public event will feature graduate student oral presentations, an undergraduate poster session and a keynote address given by Evelyn Gaiser, UGA alumnae and associate professor at Florida International University.

Freedom Breakfast to be streamed
UGA will stream live video of the sixth annual Freedom Breakfast on the Web beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Jan. 16. At that time, viewers can click here to see the live stream. Viewers will need RealPlayer, which is available for download from www.real.com. The breakfast also will be broadcast live on Cable Channel 15. At the Freedom Breakfast, an annual event celebrating the life of the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the 2009 Fulfilling the Dream Award will be presented to four individuals who have made significant efforts to build bridges of understanding. The speaker will be U.S. Rep. and civil rights activist John Lewis.The breakfast is sponsored by UGA and the Athens-Clarke County government and school district.
