Manuscripts dealing in research in all fields of ethnobotany, in any reasonable length, biographical sketches, and critical reviews and summaries of literature will be considered for web publication. Casual notes and floristic lists will also be considered if the main focus falls on plant species of economic interest. Advice on the suitability of manuscripts will be solicited, if necessary, from qualified scientists.

Although authors are not required to follow any single style guide for their submissions, it is expected that the papers will be well organized, written in grammatically correct English, and without spelling errors. Whenever possible, papers should be proofed by someone well familiar with English grammar and spelling. Although the body of the paper is to be in English, abstracts in other languages are acceptable.

Literature citations for books should include the date and place of publication, as well as the publisher. Journal names should be spelled out, rather than abbreviated. Scientific names should include the authority. Binomials are italicized.

Manuscripts should be prepared using MSWORD for WINDOWS. We can not accept articles typed in Word Perfect, Adobe PDF or Powerpoint. Do not number the pages. As each article will be printed on the web exactly as received, the text should be in final form prior to submission. All formatting (such as in the use of bold, underlining or italicizing) remains the responsibility of the author.

Use the "Times New Roman" font if available. Body of manuscript should be 12 point type. Title is 16 point bold and headings are 12 or 14 point bold.

Figures and tables should be numbered and inserted directly into the text. There is no charge for color graphs or illustrations.

Each and every author carries the right to print out and distribute their own articles. Reprints are not furnished by the journal.

Please note that the aim of this web journal is to facilitate publication. If you have a contribution that is earmarked for quick publication in an archived and google-indexed journal, than this is the place for you.  On the other hand, papers for use in dossiers that are intended for purposes of university promotion, tenure, and salary increases are best sent to a peer reviewed journal, such as Economic Botany or Ethnobiology.

Our “impact” on the scientific community is measured by the number of “hits” we take on our web page counter and the feedback that we get from individual authors. The web counter located at the very bottom of the main web page reports our current total number of visitors.
