The Financial Management organization at FNS Headquarters is responsible
for:
Preparing and defending the Agency's Congressional budget requests.
Accounting for the funds allocated to FNS by Congress.
Preparing financial reports and statements.
Managing the management decision and closure processes
applicable to agency audits.
Managing the reporting and record keeping
processes for internal control activities as governed by the Federal
Managers' Financial Integrity Act (FMFIA).
Producing regular reports of Food Program Operations and maintaining
a National Data Bank of historical program information.
Awarding discretionary grant funds to successful applicants.
Developing and maintaining accounting policy and procedures
applicable to all Agency food assistance programs.
The Financial Management organization at FNS Headquarters provides the following services:
Processing and recording monetary transactions of the
Agency.
Maintaining and supporting the users of our financial systems.
Maintaining the historical data base of program information, i.e., the National Data Bank.
Negotiating Accounts Receivable repayment.
Issuing retailer billings.
Maintaining these FM Internet communication pages intended for use by FNS' employees, partners and customers.
