What are your hours of operation?
Open daily (except December 25)
Museum: 10 am to 5:30 pm Plaza: 7:30 am to 5:30 pm
Sculpture Garden: 7:30 am to dusk
Admission: Free; donations are accepted.

What kind of tours do you offer?
We offer several tour options:

You can explore the Hirshhorn’s galleries with artists, staff members, and special guests by joining a gallery talk each Friday at 12:30 pm. This program, the Friday Gallery Talk, is introduced and organized each week by curatorial research associate Ryan Hill. Meet at the Information Desk in the Lobby. Visit the website to get specific information on weekly topics of discussion or to find out which artist or scholar will be featured. No tours on Federal holidays.

We also offer ASK + FOCUS + PLAN + EXPERIENCE
Between 10:30 am to Noon, group tours scheduled in advance meet at the Information Desk. Schedule your tour by calling 202-633-2796 or 202-633-8043 (TTY).

Between Noon to 4 pm at the Information Desk, Docents will help you plan your visit and lead you on impromptu 30-minute tours. Guides also roam the galleries to answer your questions and discuss the collection and The Cinema Effect exhibition on the second level.

How can I buy an exhibition catalogue or gifts in the Museum Shop?
The Museum Shop has a large selection of books, exhibition catalogues, postcards, and posters on modern and contemporary art. The shop also carries CDs, tapes, artist-crafted jewelry, design items, and toys. All merchandise is also available by mail order. Please contact the shop to discuss any merchandise available in the shop. Smithsonian Associates enjoy a 10% discount on Museum Shop items. Payments may be made with major credit cards or by check.

What happens if I lose something in the museum?
Any items found in the Museum are turned into the Museum's security office and then brought over to the central Lost and Found, located at Capital Gallery at the end of the day. The items are all logged in and sorted by museum. They are kept for 30 days. After that, they are donated to charity.

Can I sketch in the Hirshhorn's galleries?
Yes, but only with pencil. You may not use pens or set up an easel.
