Website FAQ
Q: How do I find photos of Museum artifacts on the National Air and Space Museum
Web site?
A: The National Air and Space Museum Collections Database provides information and images for aircraft, space artifacts and other objects in the Museum's collection. Online
photos are also available for major artifacts on display
in the Museum via the Exhibition Galleries page. Information about Museum artifacts is continually added to the Web site.
Q: Can I use Smithsonian copyrighted and other images found
on the National Air and Space Museum Web site?
A: Image use requires written permission from the
National Air and Space Museum. All images and graphics (logos,
etc.) on the Museum's Web site are under copyright of the Smithsonian unless
otherwise noted. Generally, some images may be free to use
for individual, nonprofit purposes (i.e. educational). Images
or graphics on the Museum Web site may NOT be used on public
Web pages, publications, CDs or commercial uses of any kind
without prior approval from the Museum's Archives Division. Icons,
banners, content, and general format and presentation of
Museum web pages are all under Smithsonian copyright and may not
be duplicated elsewhere. For more information on copyright
and image use permissions, see Smithsonian
Institution, National Air and Space Museum Copyright Restrictions.
Q: Does the Museum trade links with other web sites?
A: It depends. Please see the Museum's linking
policy available online.
