→ Twin Falls District Begins Fire Recruitment Efforts: Recruitment for positions with the Idaho BLM Twin Falls District Fire and Aviation Program is now underway. Fire leadership will be traveling to area high schools and colleges to recruit for temporary and career seasonal jobs in suppression, aviation, dispatch, mitigation and fuels. Three Open House events will also be hosted, providing applicants with the chance to get help with the online application and meet fire officials. Twin Falls District will accept applications December 1, 2008 through January 31, 2009. Each year, efforts are made to recruit new individuals to fill fire positions and potentially become long-term assets to the organization.
→ Proposed China Mountain Wind Energy Project
The Jarbidge Field Office is preparing an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the proposed China Mountain Wind Project. The proposal is for 30,700 acres of public, state and private lands in the Jarbidge Foothills, southwest of Rogerson in Twin Falls County, Idaho and west of Jackpot in Elko County, Nevada. → Resource Management Plan
The Jarbidge Field Office is preparing a Resource Management Plan (RMP) for approximately 1.4 million acres of public land in southern Idaho. An RMP is a land use plan that describes broad, multiple-use guidance for managing public lands. Check out the website for current information. Jarbidge RMP Website
