Thank you for considering a donation to the Global Invasive Species Database.
If you wish to donate, please contact Carola Warner for options. We will provide an online donation solution in the near future. Many thanks for supporting this important information exchange mechanism.
The Global Invasive Species Database is a free online source of information about invasive alien species. It covers all taxonomic groups from micro-organisms to animals and plants, in all ecosystems (terrestrial, freshwater and marine). It aims to increase public awareness about introduced species that negatively impact biodiversity, and to facilitate effective prevention and management activities by providing easy access to authoritative information. Information in the GISD is either supplied by or reviewed by expert contributors from around the world.
The GISD is managed by the Invasive Species Specialist Group of the Species Survival Commission of the IUCN-World Conservation Union. The GISD was developed as part of the global initiative on invasive species led by the Global Invasive Species Programme and is supported through partnerships with the National Biological Information Infrastructure, Manaaki Whenua-Landcare Research, the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund, the University of Auckland and private donations.
