Digital States Survey

The Digital States Survey, conducted biannually in even years, is a comprehensive study that examines best practices, policies and progress made by state governments in their use of digital technologies to better serve their citizens and streamline operations. The survey is conducted approximately February - April (2010, 2012, etc.).

The Digital States Performance Institute (DSPI)

The Digital States Performance Institute (DSPI) is not a place, but a community of interest around modernizing and improving government. The newly expanded DSPI builds on the successes of the biennial Digital States Survey with a year-round program of ongoing original research, analysis and tools in the strategic planning process through regional events, Webinars, podcasts, online communities or panels, and - of course - a Twitter feed. All of it is intended to extend the value of the Digital States benchmarks through the documentation and sharing of best and emerging practices by states that are committed to meeting today's needs and tomorrow's expectations.
