The
Government
Performance
and Results
Act (GPRA)
seeks to
make the
federal
government
more accountable
to the
American
people
for the
tax dollars
it spends
and the
results
it achieves.
The Department
of the
Interior
is complying
with GPRA
through its
performance
management
system
that provides
useful
information
to managers
and promotes
accountability
for results.
In addition to a strategic plan, GPRA requires agencies to prepare related annual performance plans and annual performance reports. The legal requirements for an annual performance plan are met by a performance budget. The annual performance report requirement will be fulfilled by both the performance budget and the performance and accountability report (PAR).
