Production in Arizona with Retractable Shade Structure - Retractable Shade Structure for Arid Climate

Industry Supporter:  Richard Vollebregt
Dr. Ursula Schuch, Plant Sciences and Dr. Gene Giacomelli, Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering

A retractable roof greenhouse structure has been constructed at the University of Arizona Campus Agriculture Center.  A research program started to develop crop specific information for nursery growers, improve the knowledge of how to manage the environment within the structure to maintain optimum growing conditions, and explore the feasibility of producing new crops in retractable roof greenhouses.

Cooperators: Dr. Merle Jensen
Technical support: Mr. Stephen Kania
