The 1999 edition of this production manual was a complete updating of CTAHR's classic series of circulars on the subject written by Y. Baron Goto and Edward T. Fukunaga in the 1950s. Since then, new developments and changes in coffee production technology have occurred in both the traditional Kona "coffee belt" on the island of Hawaii and the new coffee-growing sites elsewhere in the state.
The 2008 revised edition contains some minor updates and corrections to the earlier editions.
